First Time: I rode a Burton Backhill, and the coolest trick I could do on the first day was a hospital air (air flat to back). I was at Wolf Creek, there was tons of new snow, so it was a good day to learn.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would it be? Heliboarding in Russia. I've heard lots about the mountains there. The thought of Siberia and uncharted mountains is intriguing. I'm not too sure about the heli service there, though.
Is snowboarding ready for the Olympics? I hope so, because it's happening, ready or not. There is enough emphasis on competition right now to award this recognition- especially in racing and halfpipe. There has been competition in this sport for years, it has evolved enough to be ready for the Olympics.
If you didn't snowboard, what would you be doing right now? I'd probably be attempting to play basketball (ha-ha).
What do you do when you're not snowboarding? I think about snowboarding. I play golf, mountain bike, skateboard and right now, I'm chopping lots of wood- fire is my only source of heat.
Who do you ride with the most? My dog Oso, a Golden Retriever, Chow mix. He keeps me entertained. But as far as humans go, I'd have to say Marcus Egge, Alan Schutz, and the former SFPD (San Francisco Police Dept.).
If you were going on a trip and could only take five things with you (other than a change of clothes and your snowboard) what would those things be? A backcountry pack loaded with survival gear, a walkman, a Swedish girl, a jar of green chili from Dorothy's, and my lucky Sabona.
